We Meet . . .
JS (Jim) Adams (pictured left) and Joseph Dress (right) met March 1993 in Nashville TN, USA during the Conductors Leather/Levi club's run, Track XI. It was Joseph's first leather run and it was obvious he was 'fresh meat.' Jim, although a vegetarian, readily picked up the scent.

Joseph’s Links
We started a long-distance relationship in the late fall of that year. Jim in Louisville, Kentucky and Joseph in Huntsville, Alabama ... a four hour drive!
We Come Together . . .
A decision to bring us together changed both of our lives entirely. Failing to secure Joseph employment in Louisville, we opted to move to a new city all together. Our 'short list' brought us to Washington, DC. Jim knew the city from many previous vacations and Joseph held fond memories of the eastern US coast having grown up in New Jersey. We had also run into each other on The Mall during the 1993 March on Washington, making DC itself hold new memories for us.
Jim moved to DC in December 1994 and Joseph arrived about a month later. We settled in quickly to the big city, enjoying our jobs and making many great friends.
Our Lives Together . . .
We live in Washington, DC. Our first home was near the very political heart of our country on Capitol Hill. (Jim calls it "The Heart of the Beast!") We were within walking distance of the Capitol Building, Supreme Court, The Library of Congress, The Mall, Union Station and many other exciting places!
We finally bought our own home in the Fall of 2003, a beautiful bungalow in the Takoma neighborhood. Between our house, our friends, and the city we seem to always keep busy!
We continue to discover more and more of the truly weird side of the District. This is something we want to share with others so we've put together a tour showing the wacky, the weird, and generally off-the-wall sights of Washington, DC!
Jim's links page has more information about Washington tourism, media, and the arts. Joseph’s links page has an eclectic look at the web.

Making It Official . . .
On Wednesday, August 11, 1999, our relationship was legally recognized when we applied for domestic partnership benefits at Joseph’s employer. The happy occasion was documented, pictured right.
Government Recognized . . .
On March 19, 2003, ten years from the day we met, we registered as Domestic Partners with the District of Columbia. After exchanging rings at the newly renovated Botanic Gardens, we flew off to California for several days in San Francisco, the Redwood forests, and a second ring exchange on the shore of the Pacific Ocean.
